JOHANNESBURG - Judgment in the so-called coffin assault case is expected to be handed down at the High Court sitting in Middelburg on Friday morning.

Theo Jackson and Willem Oosthuizen have been on trial for attempted murder and kidnapping, after they forced Rethabile Mlotshwa into a coffin and allegedly threatened to set it alight.

Some community members are expected to make their way to court on Friday, hoping for a guilty verdict for the pair.

The two accused have argued that they have never intended to kill Mlotshwa and were merely threatening him.

However, the prosecution argued their actions were fuelled by racism.

Oosthuizen and Jackson have pleaded not guilty to all charges.
