The British PR agency has been found to have behaved unethically by the United Kingdom’s Public Relations And Communications Association.
The British PR agency has been found to have behaved unethically by the United Kingdom’s Public Relations And Communications Association (PRCA) .
It ran a contentious campaign defending the Guptas in South Africa.
The DA has accused Bell Pottinger of exploiting racial divisions in South Africa through campaigns for the Gupta-owned Oakbay.
The party's Phumzile van Damme says the fact that the PRCA disciplinary committee upheld the complaint indicates they agree that the agency contravened the regulator's code of ethics.
“We trust the PRCA will hand down a very strong sanction on Bell Pottinger to send the message that unethical conduct by Bell Pottinger will not be tolerated.”
Bell Pottinger has five days to appeal the finding after which the PRCA board will consider the matter before announcing a final decision.
