BLF's Andile Mngxitama faces legal action over Holocaust tweet
The South African Jewish Board of Deputies has met with its lawyers and will be taking legal action.
JOHANNESBURG - The South African Jewish Board of Deputies says it plans to take action against BLF leader Andile Mngxitama.
Mngxitama tweeted on Thursday: "For those claiming the legacy of the holocaust is ONLY negative think about the lampshades and Jewish soap (sic)."

The board says Mngxitama's statement is demeaning and deeply offensive to Holocaust survivors.
Mngxitama says the tweet was intended to prove that Jews are racist because they didn’t react when Western Cape Premier Helen Zille made a similar statement on colonialism.
“We just gave back to them what Helen Zille gave.”
But the Jewish board's Wendy Kahn says there is no justification for such sentiments.
“We don’t find genocide to be humorous at all. We lost six million people in the Holocaust, in addition to the many other millions killed.”
Kahn says the board has met with its lawyers and will be taking legal action.
