Police rearrest 5 of 20 escaped prisoners

JOHANNESBURG - Five of the 20 awaiting trial prisoners who escaped from a police truck have been rearrested.
The men broke free after the vehicle they were travelling in from the Johannesburg Magistrates Court to the Johannesburg correctional was ambushed by a group of armed men this week.
None of the officers were injured in the incident.
The police’s Lungelo Dlamini said: “We managed to rearrest five of the awaiting trial prisoners.
"They were arrested on Wednesday in various areas in Gauteng. At this stage, 15 are still on the run but there is information that we’re busy following up on.”
