JOHANNESBURG – Parents who've received placement notices for their children in grades one and seven have been urged to respond to the Gauteng Education Department to secure their places.

The department says around 71,000 pupils still haven’t accepted or rejected their placement offer.

The department's Oupa Bodibe says the process will close in a months’ time.

“We’re currently assisting parents who placed their kids on time. When we’re done, we’ll open applications to parents who have not applied. A date for this will be announced.”
