CAPE TOWN - A 16 year old Hanover Park girl - who died after she was caught in a gang crossfire - is expected to be laid to rest next week.

Arrests have yet to be made in connection with the murder of Octavia Johanessen.

The teenager was hit by a stray bullet near her home earlier this week, during gun battles between rival gangs.

She sustained a gunshot wound to the head and died at the scene.

The Hanover Park community policing forum's Ebrahim Abrahams said, “90% of the people are innocent and don’t know when it will flare up again, they get caught in the cross fire, it’s not easy for us. We don’t know how to combat this thing.”
