Dlamini to clarify grant payments system issues at Limpopo briefing
Social Development Minister Bathabile Dlamini will be joined by Sassa officials and MECs of social development.
JOHANNESBURG - Social Development Minister Bathabile Dlamini will be clarifying issues around the social grant payment system during a breakfast briefing in Limpopo.
Dlamini will be joined by Sassa officials and MECs of Social Development.
Sassa still needs expert assistance in order to meet next year's Constitutional Court deadline to take over grant payments from service provider Cash Paymaster Services (CPS).
The contracts of controversial work streams appointed by Dlamini were cancelled in July after Treasury found them to have been illegally appointed.
Five work streams were originally supposed to be appointed to assist Sassa in determining shortcomings and setting up systems to take over grant distribution.
Dlamini is still due to testify during a public inquiry about the role she played in the payment crisis, to determine whether she should be held personally liable for costs.
