Gauteng Social Development Dept: Cannabis use hurts schoolchildren the most
The Gauteng Social Development Department’s Mbangwa Xaba says the use of weed hurts school going children the most.
JOHANNESBURG – The Gauteng Social Development Department is supporting anti-cannabis pickets outside the High Court in Pretoria where the so-called dagga couple’s case is being heard.
Julian Stobbs and Myrtle Clarke want government to legalise the use of cannabis by adults and want regulation for the use and cultivation of the herb.
The Gauteng Social Development Department’s Mbangwa Xaba says that the use of cannabis hurts schoolchildren the most.
“The biggest concern for the Gauteng provincial government is the ill effect that dagga has on our communities.
“We’re sitting now with large problems of young people, especially those of a school-going age. Schools are battling with learning and teaching because children are addicted to drugs.”
