Shaka Sisulu 'baffled' by assault claims against him

JOHANNESBURG – A relative of Human Settlements Minister Lindiwe Sisulu has denied that he assaulted the mother of his child.
Activist Shaka Sisulu has denied the claims against him. He’s accused of slamming a door on his former partner’s arms at his Sandton home recently.
Sisulu appeared in a Johannesburg court last week.
In a statement, Sisulu says that he is baffled at how a disagreement between himself and Lerato Sedi on a maintenance issue suddenly turned into an assault claim.
He has also questioned the motive for the claims.
While he does confirm that Sedi came to his house for a meeting and left upset when no agreement was reached, he is certain that no assault of any kind took place.
Sisulu is the third public figure to be implicated in allegations of abuse against a woman this month after deputy Education Minister Mduduzi Manana admitted to assaulting Mandisa Duma at a Fourways nightclub and former soccer player Marks Maponyane was found guilty of assaulting his wife.
