JOHANNESBURG - A Gauteng pensioner, who had been living in a rundown house for years, has received the keys to her new home on Sunday, courtesy of the provincial government.

Social Development MEC Nandi Mayathula-Khoza officially handed over the newly renovated house to 75-year old Jane Mbosula earlier on Sunday afternoon.

The MEC says the project was made possible thanks to a partnership between government and a local businessman.

“The Gauteng Social Development Department partnered with a local businessman to help Jane Mbosula out of dire poverty. She was living in extreme poverty. The community had been helping her with food and other stuff.”
