Sadtu plans pickets over violence at WC schools
The union has announced plans to stage a series of pickets at schools in the coming days.
CAPE TOWN - The South African Democratic Teacher's Union (Sadtu) says it’s deeply concerned about an increase in violence at schools across the Western Cape.
Sadtu has announced plans to stage a series of pickets at schools in the coming days.
Sadtu’s Jonovan Rustin says the impact of gang violence at schools in several areas, including Manenberg, Bonteheuwel and Hanover Park, is a major concern.
“Sadtu has decided that our schools will host picket demonstrations for the next five days before after school, after school and during breaks, with the aim to call on communities to create safe environments.”
