PRETORIA - Four of the men linked to an assault at a KFC in Montana are expected to apply for bail in the Pretoria North magistrates court on Thursday.

A fifth accused - who handed himself over to the police on Monday - made a brief appearance in the court on Tuesday before being remanded in custody.

The accused are among a group of five white men who allegedly assaulted a black couple last Wednesday.

A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

Joshau Schultz made a brief appearance in the court yesterday and is expected to apply for bail with his three co-accused.

Shultz will plead not guilty to the charges of assault and pointing a firearm.

Eyewitness News understands that Shultz and two other co-accused were parked in the KFC drive-through when the two complainants asked him to move his car.

It's understood an altercation ensued in which two other accused in a separate car and unknown to Schultz - entered the fray - before the incident turned violent.

EWN has learnt that the police have collected surveillance footage from the food outlet.
