JOHANNESBURG - Afriforum says farm attacks in South Africa are increasing rapidly with at least seven attacks over the weekend.

In one attack, a farmer was killed by robbers when he caught them stealing from his Groblersdal farm.

The organisation says it's worried that farm murders aren't given the same attention by the government as other issues.

Afriforum's Ian Cameron said: “The past few months in South Africa there has definitely been an increase, since February. We've seen a completely different type of pattern than we’ve seen in other years or previous years. So there is a drastic increase in 2017.”
