2 arrested for trying to hijack Uber driver in JHB

JOHANNESBURG - Two men have been arrested for allegedly trying to hijack an Uber driver at the weekend.

It's understood the men requested a trip from Roodepoort to Pretoria.

Police say they later asked the driver to make a stop to pick up a friend and forced him out the car with a sharp object.

The police's Kay Makhubele said: “They will be charged with attempted hijacking and robbery. They will appear before the Roodepoort Magistrates court soon.”
