3 killed in KZN shooting, 2 suspects questioned

The police say the motive behind the attack that took place in Mbolongwane is not yet known at this stage as the matter is still under investigation.

JOHANNESBURG – Three people have been killed and two others seriously wounded when unknown suspects shot them and set their house alight in Mbongolwane in KwaZulu-Natal.

The incident took place around 2 am on Sunday morning when the victims were sleeping in their rondavel.

The police say the motive behind the attack is not yet known at this stage as the matter is still under investigation.

Authorities say two people suspected to be involved in the shooting have been taken in for questioning by detectives.

Police spokesperson Thulani Zwane says, “Two other people were seriously injured and taken to hospital for treatment. We have opened three counts of murder, as well as two counts of attempted murder. The motive for the attack is still unknown at this stage. The acting provincial commissioner has condemned such killings.”
