[ALERT] Woman gunned down at Glebelands Hostel
Police have confirmed a 30-year-old woman was shot dead last night.
JOHANNESBURG – There’s been yet another killing at the notorious Glebelands hostel in Umlazi in KwaZulu-Natal.
Police have confirmed that a 30-year-old woman was shot dead last night.
The latest crime comes just a week after two people were killed there.
The Moerane Commission of Inquiry investigating political killings in the province has heard how most hitmen responsible for the crimes live at Glebelands.
The police’s Thulani Zwane says: "Around 8:30pm last night, it’s alleged a woman was in her room when she was allegedly shot by an unknown suspect. She died instantly and a case of murder was then opened by the Umlazi police."

At the same time, KwaZulu-Natal police are searching for a suspect linked to the murder of a woman at the notorious Glebelands hostel in Umlazi.
The latest killing comes just a week after two people were killed there.
This brings the number of murders at the hostel to 92 since 2014 with no convictions to date.
Zwane says: “A case of murder was then opened by the Umlazi police station and motive for her killing is still unknown at this stage.
“We’re making an appeal to the community members to work together with the police in identifying the culprits .”
