CAPE TOWN - The Bishop Lavis Community Policing Forum (CPF) has lambasted authorities for apparently not doing enough to curb fatal shootings in the area.

The CPF says 17 people have now been gunned down in the area over the past two and half weeks.

It says it’s believed the suspects pulled up in a bakkie and opened fired on the victim.

The attacks then apparently followed him inside his home and continued shooting.

CPF chairperson Graham Lindhorst says this illustrates the brazen nature of these attacks.

“We need to see the premier coming to our area and helping us. She has been silent.

He says urgent intervention is required from government to ease tension in Bishop Lavis and surrounding communities.
