CAPE TOWN - The City of Cape Town says call centres have been the main attraction for investors in the metro.

The Metro's Enterprise and Investment Department has facilitated R2.6 billion worth of investment between 2016 and 2017.

It also brought some relief for job seekers with 6,200 direct jobs being created.

Mayor Patricia de Lille says they have simplified the investment process through a one-stop shop containing all the information.

“And a lot of the jobs have been created in this business process. Outsourcing, the call centre, almost 4,000 jobs were created there. And then of course in other areas that also include finance and property.”
