MiWay accepts apology from author of fake racist email
MiWay CEO Rene Otto says they won't be pressing charges against Mondli Madlala.
JOHANNESBURG - MiWay insurance says it accepts the apology by the author of the fake email saying he has agreed to participate in several talks with the company about the dangers of social media.
Mondli Madlala has been identified as the author of the fake email which contained racist remarks.
The e-mail was posted on social media after Madlala's claim was rejected.
He has apologised to the insurance company confirming that he had not experienced any form of racism whether from the firm or its staff.
He was given the option of making a public apology or facing legal action and yesterday he agreed to a joint statement with the insurance company.
MiWay CEO Rene Otto says they won't be pressing charges.
“We proved that it was a fake email and we got a proper apology from him, he also agreed to perform community service and talk to learners at schools about the dangers of social media.”
