CAPE TOWN - Meet the people who drew a line in the sand, occupying a disused building on prime Cape Town property.

The Helen Bowden Nurses’ Home has a view of the V&A Waterfront, where tourists and the wealthy come to shop and play. It’s also the place that dozens of Reclaim the City supporters call home.

Their fight for affordable housing, close to the city centre and all its opportunities, has become emblematic of a broader issue.

So how do we make our spaces more inclusive? How do we build communities that embrace, rather than exclude?
