CAPE TOWN - An urgent Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) council meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday.

CPUT students discussed issues of concern during a meeting with management on Monday.

This came after a protest by insourced workers and students which led to the suspension of classes.

Issues regarding workers as well as pending criminal cases against some students were ventilated.

Classes on all of the institution’s campuses have been suspended for Tuesday and Wednesday.

CPUT spokesperson Lauren Kansley said: “Staff and students can expect updates via the usual platforms, which include email, the university website and our social media platforms.”
