JOHANNESBURG - The bodies of all four miners who were trapped underground at a shaft near Orkney in the North West have now been retrieved.

The men were trapped after what's been described as a "seismic incident" on Saturday.

Two bodies were brought to the surface at the Tau Lekoa mine on Sunday and operations continued overnight to get to the remaining two.

North West Premier Supra Mahumapelo is scheduled to visit the mine later on Monday.

The North West premier's spokesperson Brian Setswambung: "He will this morning at around 12pm be visiting the mine to talk to the mine authorities and talk to the family members who will be at Orkney today."
