CAPE TOWN - A 25-year-old Gugulethu man has finally been arrested after managing to slip through the fingers of Metro police officers.

The suspect had first been spotted by officers on Wednesday where he was in possession of a firearm.

He was able to run away following the officials’ pursuit.

The officers tracked him down, however, and found him earlier on Friday in his home in Gugulethu.

Metro police’s Ruth Solomons said: “The suspect took officers to a spot where he had two firearms hidden in a first aid bag. Officers confiscated a 38-Rossi revolver and a 9mm pistol as well as six cartridges of ammunition. The serial numbers of both weapons had been filed off.”
