CAPE TOWN - About 267 students at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology will benefit from an R8 million private donation towards their studies.

These students have been identified by the institution's financial aid office.

They either have limited financial resources or are part of the "missing middle" students whose parents can only afford to pay a portion of their university fees.

Acting vice-chancellor John Volmink says this donation could change the lives, not only of the students but also of their families.

“I’ve seen that happen in many people’s lives, including my own. That the generative effects cascade, not only geographically, but in time."
