JOHANNESBURG - Sentencing proceedings for kwaito star Sipho “Brickz” Ndlovu have been postponed as the defence prepares to apply for bail.

Ndlovu made a brief appearance at the Roodepoort Magistrates Court on Thursday morning.

Last month he was found guilty of raping a 16-year-old girl in 2013.

Ndlovu’s attorney Piet du Plessis has asked the court for a postponement, saying he was only assigned to the case on Monday.

Du Plessis also indicated that Ndlovu was not given the opportunity to apply for bail again after it was revoked when he was found guilty of the rape.

The defence is expected to apply for bail next month.

Ndlovu will remain behind bars until then.
