Union Hospersa to resume wage talks with SANParks
Workers affiliated to the union postponed their strike over salaries.
JOHANNESBURG - The Health and Other Services Personnel Trade Union of South Africa (Hospersa) will on Tuesday resume the mediation process with SANParks employees in a bid to avoid a nationwide strike.
Workers affiliated to the union postponed their strike over salaries which was supposed to start on Monday, pending further negotiations.
The union is demanding a 9% salary increase, while SANParks is offering 7%.
Hospersa's Noel Desfontaine says their members are willing to compromise.
“We have a mandate, but we could move from our position. Hopefully, that meeting will bring closure.”
