Despite death threats, Khoza continues to call on Zuma to step down
MP Dr Makhosi Khoza is speaking at the Save SA and Ahmed Kathrada Foundation conference along with 100 civil society organisations to discuss state capture.
JOHANNESBURG - African National Congress (ANC) Member of Parliament Dr Makhosi Khoza says while she may or may not live to vote in the motion of no confidence against the president, Jacob Zuma can’t run away from the public outcry against his leadership.
Khoza is speaking at the Save SA and Ahmed Kathrada Foundation conference along with 100 civil society organisations to discuss state capture.
There was a standing ovation and loud cheering when Khoza addressed the audience.
Khoza spoke about why she joined the ANC as a child and the questions she now has around the movement's moral fibre.
Despite death threats, she continues to call on President Zuma to step down.
“In case I can’t make it to 8 August 2017, Mr President ... your role as the president, you are haunting the South African nation. Please step down.”
Khoza says she’s faced with a dilemma as the very values that attracted her to the ANC have been eroded.
