One dies in car crash near Sir Lowry’s Pass

Authorities say the driver of the car has burned beyond recognition, but it’s still unclear what the condition is of the passengers in the taxi.

CAPE TOWN – Two vehicles, a taxi and a car, involved in a head-on collision near Sir Lowry’s Pass have burnt out.

Authorities say the driver of the car has burned beyond recognition, but it’s still unclear what the condition is of the passengers in the taxi.

Emergency services and traffic officials are currently on the scene.

Sir Lowry’s Pass has been closed to motorists on both sides.
