JOHANNESBURG – Police have arrested four people in Kempton Park on Thursday night after a shootout on the R21.

Police are not ruling out the possibility that the men could be behind the string of attacks on people being followed from OR Tambo International Airport and robbed.

Last month, a couple from the Democratic Republic of Congo were followed from the airport and shot at near their hotel in Morningside.

Spokesperson Katlego Mogale says police are probing whether the men can be linked to other crimes.

“They managed to disable the vehicle that the suspects were travelling in and arrested the four suspects, and in their possession, three firearms were found and the suspects will be appearing in court soon.”
