Coffin assault accused set to reapply for bail

JOHANNESBURG - Two men who allegedly forced a black man into a coffin and threatened to douse him with petrol are expected to reapply for bail in Mpumalanga on Friday.

Theo Jackson and Willem Oosthuizen face charges of kidnapping, assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm and attempted murder.

In their affidavits, they claimed they did not mean any harm and merely wanted to teach Victor Mlotshwa a lesson.

A video of the incident went viral, sparking widespread outrage.

The case is being heard in the Middelburg Regional Court.
