Randburg man due in court after crashing into group of men

It’s understood the suspect was under the influence of alcohol and lost control of his car when he crashed into the men.

JOHANNESBURG - A 22-year-old is expected to appear in the Randburg Magistrates Court on Monday for allegedly skipping a traffic light and ploughing into a group of men, instantly killing four and injuring six others.

It is understood that the suspect was under the influence of alcohol and lost control of his car when he crashed into the men who were gambling on the side of Bram Fischer Drive.

Police spokesperson Mavela Masondo says that the suspect is due in court.

“Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide. This comes after an allegedly intoxicated driver drove into a group of people and killed four of them. He will be charged with culpable homicide.”
