Khayelitsha police arrest 11 for weekend crimes
Police arrested people for a variety of crimes, including possession of firearms and possession of stolen cars.
CAPE TOWN - Khayelitsha police have arrested 11 suspects for a series of crimes in the community over the weekend.
In the first successful operation, Harare officers nabbed two men for the possession of an unlicensed firearm.
In another incident, police members on patrol saw a suspect pointing a firearm at people in the street.
The police's Elna de Beer says the 22-year-old man was taken into custody.
“In another case, swift response by Khayelitsha members led to the arrest of four suspects for being in possession of a stolen vehicle.
“The police were patrolling when they spotted a white Ford Fiesta that was reported as stolen in a Lingelethu case.”
