Netshitenzhe waits on ANC for clarity over disciplinary process
Some in the ANC accused Joel Netshitenzhe of sowing divisions among delegates by revealing certain details of the party's recent policy conference.
JOHANNESBURG – African National Congress (ANC) national executive committee member Joel Netshitenzhe says that he will wait for clarity from the office of the secretary-general on whether he will face a disciplinary process.
Netshitenzhe faced a backlash after he revealed that nine of the 11 commissions agreed not to racially define the concept of monopoly capital at the party's recent policy conference.
Some in the ANC have accused him of sowing divisions among delegates by revealing the numbers.
But he has refused to apologise and maintains he presented an accurate reflection.
“I would want to confirm that it is an accurate reflection of what transpired in the commission and it is precisely for that reason that I refuse to apologise.”
