Protesting Diepsloot residents feel neglected by govt
Community members took to the streets this morning over service delivery.
JOHANNESBURG – Residents of Diepsloot say they feel neglected by the government because they have been living in poor conditions for years.
Community members took to the streets on Monday morning over service delivery.
They are demanding better houses, water and electricity.
Several roads have been barricaded with burning tyres, stones and debris.
One resident says that they are tired of the conditions they live in.
“We’re striking because we want electricity. President Jacob Zuma hasn’t helped with our problems because he’s giving the Guptas the money.”
