CAPE TOWN - The City of Cape Town’s Traffic Services have impounded 80 taxis during a transport blitz last week.
Roadblocks were conducted in Bellville, Belhar and Brackenfell.

The operation was focused on operators without permits or those operating in contravention of their permits.

Mayoral Committee member JP Smith says the exercise was also rolled out to the metro's southern suburbs.

“A taxi driver caused absolute mayhem, he tried to evade our officers after being pulled over for not having an operating license. Not only did he take them on a wild chase through the Grassy Park and Lavender Hill area but he also collided with three cars in the process.”
