CAPE TOWN - Cape Town’s Disaster Risk Management teams are on standby in case of flooding in vulnerable areas.
Rains fell heavily on Saturday night in most parts of the city.
The South African Weather Service predicts the weather should clear by Monday.
The city’s Charlotte Powell says officials are keeping an eye on communities that are prone to flooding, including informal settlements.
“Our community leaders and the councillors will keep a watchful eye for us. So, when flooding is reported then we'll activate our disaster management offices. They will go make an assessment, then based on their assessment we’ll activate the necessary services.”
