JOHANNESBURG – In the wake of sexual harassment allegations against brothers Ajay and Tony Gupta by former workers, the African National Congress Women’s League (ANCWL) says it stands with victims of violence and abuse.

The latest Gupta emails published by Amabhungane and the Scorpio Unit have detailed the working conditions of female employees under the Gupta’s and how sexual harassment was part of the job.

It is alleged that the women were sexually harassed while cash payouts and threats of unemployment were used to silence them.

The ANCWL says that while the reports are unverified at this stage, members of society must stand up against violence and sexual abuse.
