[LISTEN] New IAAF study reignites debate on female athletes and testosterone

Hyperandrogenism is described as excessive levels of male sex hormones, such as testosterone, in the female body.

CAPE TOWN - A discussion has resurfaced over the last few days about the role that testosterone plays in the effectiveness of women athletes.

An International Association of Athletics Federations study found that in five events, female athletes who have higher testosterone levels performed better than those whose levels were lower.
