Hawks confirm break-in at Pretoria head office
The incident comes as two men accused of robbery at the office of the Chief Justice are expected to appear in a Mamelodi court.
JOHANNESBURG - The Hawks have confirmed to Eyewitness News that there was a break-in at their head office in Silverton in the early hours of Wednesday morning and that computers have been stolen.
It’s not clear how many were stolen or who was responsible.
The incident comes as two men accused of robbery at the office of the Chief Justice are expected to appear in a Mamelodi court on Wednesday.
The Hawks have confirmed that computers were amongst the items stolen during a break-in at their headquarters at the Promat Building in Silverton on Wednesday morning.
The burglary was concentrated in the support environment where HR, Finance and the Supply Chain sections are located.
A team has been assembled to investigate and they are assessing the damage.
It is unclear at this stage if any confidential information relating to ongoing investigations has been compromised.
