Has SA missed the bus for digital migration?
The ANC's Jackson Mthembu held a briefing in Nasrec about the commission on communications at the policy conference.
JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress (ANC) says government has missed an opportunity for digital migration given the need to develop the ICT sector to ensure South Africa isn't left behind.
The party's Jackson Mthembu held a briefing in Nasrec about the commission on communications at the policy conference.
Mthembu says digital migration is something that should have already happened.
“We have lost an opportunity from 2015, we should have migrated. We are now in 2017 and still losing the benefits of the digital environment. We are saying to government, if you have to migrate to digital today then do so.”
Mthembu has also raised concerns about regulating print media to ensure accountability.
