CAPE TOWN – An apparent gang turf war has claimed the lives of two men in Pinelands. It is believed that the two were killed in a hit on Wednesday night.

It is alleged that one of the men killed in the shooting is a notorious Mitchells Plain-based gang boss.

Balaclava-clad gunmen sprayed the vehicle that the deceased and another man were driving in with bullets. No arrests have been made at this stage.

It follows shootings at a number of Cape Town clubs believed to be linked to security extortion rackets and the drug trade.

In May, alleged gang kingpin Jerome Booysen was seriously wounded in Ravensmead.
