WC officers launch manhunt after suspects shoot sergeant

The sergeant was shot in the face after three armed men opened fire at the Lingelethu west police station in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

CAPE TOWN – A manhunt has been launched for three suspects who attacked a Khayelitsha police station and wounded a policeman.

The sergeant was shot in the face after three armed men opened fire at the Lingelethu West police station in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The officer is in a stable condition.

The motive for the attack in unknown at this stage.

Western Cape police commissioner Khombinkosi Jula has condemned the attack.
“We are going to be working around the clock to ensure that the suspects that are involved are brought to book.”
