DBE investigates after official website is hacked
The department has released a statement in which it distances itself from images of children's corpses which it says appeared on the site after it was hacked.
JOHANNESBURG – The department of basic education says its website has been hacked and grisly images of decapitated corpses some of which are children have been put up.
A message posted on the website shows what appears to be a religious motive around the hacking with text saying "I love Islamic State"
The department has distanced itself from the images and the message posted on the website.
Spokesperson Elijah Mhlanga says, “We are currently checking where it originates from and the State Information Technology Agency is working on this to assist us.”
