JOHANNESBURG - The Labour Court has ruled that the Democratic Alliance (DA) and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) can intervene as interested parties in an application by former Eskom CEO Brian Molefe to get his job back.

Molefe is challenging last month’s decision by the Eskom board to rescind his reappointment.

His application to the Labour Court is now set to go ahead on Thursday.

The opposition parties had argued that it was inappropriate for the Labour Court to hear Molefe’s application because the matter is already pending in the high court.

The DA says it views Molefe’s court action as nothing more than desperation.
