18 drunk drivers arrested over long weekend in WC

CAPE TOWN - At least 18 drunk drivers have been arrested on Western Cape roads over the long weekend.

There were at least three deaths as a result of crashes.

Two speedsters are also set to appear in court in Beaufort West and Vredenburg on Monday.

Western Cape Traffic Kenny Africa says: “The highest speed recorded in the Western Cape over this long weekend was 161km/h in a 120km/h zone. This was on the N1 in Beaufort West, Karoo. In Vredenburg, there was an incident recorded were a motorist drove 125km/h in an 80km/h zone.
