Judge Patricia Goliath said there was no mitigation evidence for her to impose a sentence less than the minimum of 15 years.
Activist Nosipho Vidima says: “We’re hoping that the rest of the justice system, including the investigating officers, will realise that Judge Goliath just said that no special treatment should be taken for people that kill sex workers. Killing sex workers will not be tolerated for anybody in South Africa.”
