Zuma urges youth to help deal with violence against women, children
The president says while there’s a focus on economic issues they must also look at addressing social ills.
JOHANNESBURG – President Jacob Zuma has encouraged the youth to help develop strategies to deal with the scourge of violence against women and children.
Zuma was speaking at the presidential youth working group meeting in Pretoria on Friday.
The meeting has been convened to report back to various youth formations on government programmes that are aimed at empowering young people.
The president says while there’s a focus on economic issues, they must also look at addressing social ills.
“We are currently facing a serious issue of violence against women and children. We look forward to hearing your views on what can be done to eradicate this scourge.”
