Kid (3) killed in pedestrian accident near Worcester

The driver of the light motor vehicle escaped injury. The cause of the accident in not known yet.

CAPE TOWN - A three-year-old boy has been killed in a pedestrian accident on the R26, about 5 kilometres outside Worcester.

Paramedics arrived on the scene at about 9:30 and found the body in the emergency lane.

The driver of a light motor vehicle escaped injury.

The cause of the accident is not yet known and the circumstances surrounding the collision are being investigated.

ER24's Russell Meiring said: "ER24 paramedics, along with Metro services, arrived on the scene at approximately 09:30. Upon closer inspection, paramedics found the body lying in the emergency lane of the road. Paramedics assessed the boy and, unfortunately, nothing could be done for the child and he was declared dead on the scene."
