JOHANNESBURG - As the world marks Child Protection Week, the Gauteng government is holding an indaba to assist with documenting children of immigrants living in South Africa.

An indaba taking place on Thursday and Friday is underway in Braamfontein, Johannesburg.

Social Development MEC Nandi Mayathula-Khoza says they want to improve the lives of all children living in the country.

“The motive is to find a solution for these children to be documented so they can be able to live their lives; attend school and tertiary, because without documents the future of the children is doomed.”
