JOHANNESBURG - Black First Land First (BLF) leader Andile Mngxitama has vehemently denied that he asked the Guptas for cash to fund his party.

In a joint amaBhungane and Daily Maverick expose the extent of the Gupta family’s dealings with state-owned enterprises has been laid bare, with fresh email leaks revealing how the family has been pocketing billions of rands through dubious transactions.

It also shows Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba’s apparent hand in fast tracking documents.

The leaked emails between the Guptas and others have also shown how Mngxitama, one of the family's most vocal supporters, had asked them for cash in 2016.

He has denied this.

“That’s absolute nonsense based on a clearly coordinated strategy to attack whoever is opposed to white monopoly capital. These so-called emails are manufactured by media which has become white-owned media, the bulldog of white monopoly capital.”
